My trip to Empire Farm Days 8/8/17

Empire Farm Days is an annual event hosted in Seneca Falls, NY. Vendors from all around, whether it be food, tools, or farm equipment, flock to this quaint little town. The event usually lasts three days. For city folk, it would be a sight to see: large tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment are displayed. Even some farm animals!

I went with my father-in-law, two of my nephews and two of my brothers-in-law. The weather had its moments, lots of clouds, and occasional shower and plenty of sun. There are classes on soil conservation, latest technology in the dairy field, as well as product demos of firewood processors, farm equipment, and portable wood mills.

We did a lot of walking around, checking out everything they had on display. My father-in-law has a walk app on his phone, and at one point, he told me we had already walked 3 miles! By the end of the day, he said we had walked just shy of 5 miles! I hadn’t been there in a few years, and back then I wished I had an app on my phone to clock how many miles we had walked. I’m not sure what the app my dad has, so I’ll have to get that information for walks like that, where we’re walking and stopping all the time we’re at an event.

I had a lot of fun hanging out with some of the fellas in my family. Going to an event like that is a wish-list for a lot of people, including me! There are firewood processors there that cost more than some used cars, but I always wind up wishing I could have one. It would make getting firewood for us to use for heat during the winter a lot easier!

    • It was! It was just for the day, but, any time I can hang out with some of my family, it’s always a good time.
