About Rog
Let’s see how far back should I go. I feel the only way to have you get to know me is to know a little about my past.
In 1987, I graduated from high school and decided to join the Army. I served for eight years and spent time in Louisiana and Germany for two tours. (Germany was by far my favorite place to be stationed.) My last post was in Fort Drum, New York, where I exited the Army in August 1995.
I started this website a couple of years ago on my wife’s advice. I dabbled at first, writing about a diet I was on, and from there, here I am. During this time, I did VA work (virtual assistant) for another business and enjoyed it. When that ended, I decided to get back to posting on my site. I had planned to share more about what has happened since moving back into our home in June 2020 but sadly that didn’t happen. I did open and put on pause a soybean wax melt business that I started in October 2020.
What did happen was….after covid I decided to go back out side of the house to get a job. I started at our Dunkin’ in Watkins Glen NY as a crew member, was promoted to a Shift Leader position and a year ago I was asked to go to Penn Yan to fulfill a Manager position at their Dunkin (July 2023). Then in September of 2024 instead of being given the official Manager position I was passed over after running the whole store. So I made a decision and left. I tried out Taco Bell until they went back on their promise not to have me work nights (4pm-3:00am). So after a month I was able to get a job back with Dunkin but a different network, better pay and better hours.
In the meantime my wife has taken over my Life as Rog and rebranded it to ‘This Unpredictable Life’ which seems to have always been ‘our life’. It just seems to keep us on our toes.
About Bec
Hi, my name is Becky (Bec for short). Back in 2009, I started my first site called ‘What U Talking About Willis’. It was mainly entertainment, reviews, and my/our life. During that time, I also had a soybean candle business (which started before the website) that offered retail and wholesale candles, melts, lotion, potpourri, and more. I closed that business in 2011 due to a lack of orders, the cost of shipping supplies, etc.
I had also already closed the web hosting business as I was a one-person company. This meant getting up in the middle of the night, early in the morning, or staying up very late to meet my clients’ needs. But I could keep fixing clients’ websites when they were hacked or a plug-in messed up their website.
Since selling What U Talking About Willis in April 2020, I have built and sold quite a few websites. All were recipe websites, and although I enjoyed them, they were time-consuming.
Now I have been working as a VA, and I have 2 Etsy shops that I am working on. One is very new, while the other one I have on vacation while I make some modifications to it. My goal is to have a printable business making passive income by the start of 2025.
