My Review of Good Burger 2

It is hard to believe the first Good Burger came out at the end of July 1997. My youngest was less than a year old, and my boys were 3 and 6. So at that time they wouldn’t have watched it. But when they got older I do remember them watching Keenan and Kel which were probably reruns since that aired from 1996-2000 as well as All That. So that is where I remember the phrase, “Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger”. Those two sitcoms had much better ratings than the original Good Burger. Good Burger 2 was given 20 percent better ratings than the original Good Burger coming in at 59 percent.

Now back to the present. Ed, played by Kel, is now the one running the Good Burger and that is ALL he thinks about. He even dreams about it as shown when the movie first opens up. I actually for a moment thought it was animated, to be honest. Dexter played by Keenan is not living in the same town and is an entrepreneur. His recent big project seems to have run into an issue (you will have to watch to see what happens).

Although they both have grown up, they still resemble the ‘boys’ they were many years ago. You wonder how Ed runs a burger joint when he doesn’t seem to be very smart. Dexter, although he always seemed more educated than Ed, still takes chances that he should know better than to take.

I always thought the two of them were funny but I have to admit for me? I didn’t find the movie very enjoyable. My almost nine-year-old grandson was here and watched about a quarter of it. He looked over at me and said what is this called? I said Good Burger 2. He says, “So that means there was a first one?” I said Yes. I also mentioned his Dad and Uncle used to laugh at the two of these guys. My grandson responded, “They must have been much younger than me at the time.” Which made me giggle.

So I am going to say if you enjoyed the first Good Burger you are apt to really enjoy this one. If you didn’t, you are probably not apt to like this one, but it won’t hurt to see what you think. There are a few laughable scenes. If you do watch it, or have watched it let me know in the comments what you think.

Calling all dudes—buckle up because the new adventures of Ed and Dex start now! Your favorite fast-food duo is back and serving up nostalgic laughs and new antics in Good Burger 2. Follow Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and original cashier Ed (Kel Mitchell) as they reunite in the present day at the fast-food restaurant Good Burger with a hilarious new group of employees. Dexter is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back.
