Getting Healthy and Losing Weight with Optavia

I have been working with my health coach Karen for just a little over a month, and I wanted to share with you my progress and physical changes that have happened for the better since I’ve been using the Optavia program.
On November 11, I started the program at 269 pounds. When I first started to eat the meals provided every 2 1/2 hours, my body was like, “What’s going on here?!” I got a headache the first day or two, which I knew upfront could happen. After a couple of days of eating 5 Optavia meals and one meal I prepare, the headaches went away. The headaches weren’t bad, merely a dull sensation. I feel a lot better, with more energy. I’ve found that eating every 2-3 hours is a good thing! I’m not as hungry as I was when I started out
Within two or three days, I began to sleep more soundly! I wasn’t snoring near as much, and I was waking up feeling well rested. I had a doctor’s appointment that had been scheduled prior to my joining the program, and had blood work done. My results came back normal on cholesterol, triglycerides, thyroid. This was excellent news for me! My wife and I were both elated with the test results. My doctor felt that I should continue doing what I was doing, and was happy that I had found something wasn’t a temporary weight loss fix. I had an oxygen symmetry test done at home, to determine if I need to do a lseep study for apnea. I got the results back and my doctor determined that I don’t need to go do a sleep study, and to keep losing weight, and it should get even better!
I had been walking for light exercise, with more ease and less discomfort on my knees. I decided to mix in some light jogging, again, no discomfort or pain in my knees. My range of motion has become less limited. I’ve found that I have more energy during the day. I’ve increased my run distance to 3 miles without pain/discomfort. I’m not setting any speed records, but I’m working the time off gradually.
My goal this year is to run a local 5K for ovarian cancer awareness. I ran it back in 2013, and have been wanting to get back in it for a great cause. I’ll be writing a post on that as well to promote the cause and some more info in a few months! I’m so excited to be able to share this news, as well as my progress on my weight loss journey and getting healthy!
I weighed myself on January 4, and I’m happy to report that I’ve lost TWENTY POUNDS! It’s been years since I’ve been under 250 pounds! I am no longer intimidated by the scale! I have pants and shirts that I can now fit back into and it’s an awesome feeling! When I grabbed a pair of pants that were a size smaller, I wanted to see how close I was to fitting in them. I was estatic to find out that they fit!
I look forward to continuing this journey and losing more weight. I hope that I can inspire you to know that you can do it too! Don’t forget to check out all of the Lean and Green Optivia Options before you go!
